Data Augmentation is a feature in FAW that supports both data movement and semantic model extensibility to provide missing data elements. Data Augmentation allows you to extract data from additional data sources that are not part of the FAW data pipeline and load them into ADW.  You can then use the data to customize the semantic model and create new dimensions, facts, and subject areas 2

The FAW Security framework allows a flexible and extensible mapping of Security Content to Data Roles. A Security Content is a predefined attribute that defines the boundaries of data access for a given subject area, such as Business Unit, Country, Department, Job Family, Legal Entity, and Worker Type. A Data Role is a custom role that grants access to specific subsets of data in the data warehouse based on the Security Content. A Security Content can be mapped to multiple Data Roles, and a Data Role can have multiple Security Content associated with it. For example, a Security Content of Country = US can be mapped to a Data Role of US HR Manager, and a Data Role of US HR Manager can have multiple Security Content such as Country = US, Business Unit = Sales, and Department = Marketing.

The option that is available in FAW for synchronizing users and job roles between FAW and Fusion Applications is to implement SSO and synchronization of users and job roles between FAW and Fusion Applications, before provisioning the FAW instance.  This will allow you to avoid creating Fusion Applications users and their assigned job roles in FAW, as they will be automatically synchronized from Fusion Applications 4 .  You cannot use the FAW console security option or the Bulk Load option in FAW to do the synchronization. 

The step that would be required for the data pipeline to run without any issues after your source Fusion Cloud Application instance has been refreshed with data from another environment is to update the applicable users credentials, if the passwords differ between environments.  You need to ensure that the FAWService user and any other users that are used for data extraction have valid credentials in both environments 8 .  You do not need to update the source application URL or the notification email of the FAW instance for this purpose

The way that you would secure your Fact table using data filters from different dimensions is to use functional groups to combine the data filters using the OR and AND operators. Functional groups are logical groups of dimensions that can be used to apply data filters on a Fact table.  You can use functional groups to specify complex filter criteria that involve multiple dimensions and operators 3 .  You do not need to create multi-table data sets in OAC or accept that this scenario is not supported.

Based on a standard subscription, you can create two instances of Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse: one for development/testing, and a second for production use.  You can use the development/testing instance to test new features or customizations before deploying them to the production instance 3
